Gran cafe Italia in Sellin

The service staff is relentlessly overwhelmed and not trained at all (what is served when and why is empty dishes not cleared). The food is different from that in the menu. In addition, the food is no longer hot when served. That is not how it works. Especially not with the prices. Let me give you a tip ... preheat the plate. So it has nothing to do with a good Italian. If you like Italian hospitality, this is the wrong place.

Fast, friendly service, drinks came straight away. Our pastas were both a treat. It was so good that it could be a little more. It would be good if the plates were warmed up.

Can't understand the criticism ... Were there 3 times on different days ... Ice cream tasted great, the cake was also great and the dinner was even better :) Service was always friendly and always wore a face mask. Everyone should know that you have to be patient in Corona times and not complain straight away. In any case, we thank you for the delicious dishes and the stay in the restaurant!

Nice atmosphere and excellent service

I can't understand the negative reviews, we have been here almost every evening and once in the afternoon for coffee and everything was always right. I think the service is well organized and very friendly. The food was always delicious.

After we quickly sat in our seat, after a long wait (while guests arriving after us were already being served) we independently fetched the menus from the counter. After a while an employee came and at least cleared the dishes of the previous guest and wiped our table. There was no question of an order. We weren't even asked about drinks. Eye contact with the waiter was almost impossible. Even though there were only a few guests in the restaurant. After a while we left the restaurant and went to the neighboring Italian.

We ordered our drinks and our food. The food was very tasty. After the first beer, however, nothing more happened. The waiters stood at the counter and talked. I expect you will be asked if you want to have a drink. This is how you give away real sales. It was our first and also our last visit. We prefer to go where service is still very important.

The food was good, but the service was underground. At first completely ignored, what started before the seat was allocated, plates of the starter were not removed by several waitresses, although again and again at the table when the drinks that you had to wait for were brought. There are definitely better places with really good service. Corona is not available there either - no data was recorded.

Loved the generous serving of ice cream🍦

The two stars are there because we already dined here in 2019 and had good experiences with the Gran Cafe Italia back then. Unfortunately, this was not the case in 2020. We stood in front of the restaurant and waited for a seat to be available. A waiter said there were still some tables free inside. Everything okay. Since there were only two of us and didn't want to block any of the free 4 to 6-person tables due to the high rush, we sat down at the only free 2-person table, which, however, had not yet been cleared. We figured the table would be cleared soon and we could order. Unfortunately, no. While my fiancé was still waiting at the table, I went to the toilet for a moment, which unfortunately didn't make a good impression. The ladies had 2 cubicles, one without toilet paper, the other had it on the floor. I know that some guests cannot behave themselves in the toilet, but the toilet still needs to be cleaned and toilet paper refilled regularly by the staff. This does not make a good impression, especially in times of corona, as one wonders how it is then in other areas with compliance with the hygiene measures! After I came back to the table, it was still not cleared. We waited a few minutes until we finally managed to draw our attention to one of the waiters, who kept walking past us without paying any attention to us. We asked him to please clear the table as we wanted to order. He nods and then stayed away. At some point we left the restaurant and went to the competition across the street. What a shame!

Good food in a nice environment

Consistently disappointing - the first meal ordered turned out differently than described despite explicit request. The complaint was ignored and the replacement that was finally offered (tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms and truffle, € 18.90) contained absolutely no truffle! Pasta in oil for a mere € 19. Incredible. The overburdened waiter couldn't help it, but couldn't save the situation either.

Waiter overwhelmed and not trained at all. Completely wrong information about the ordered food. That was a complete disappointment. The complaint is simply not communicated to the waiter by the colleague and nobody feels responsible. Then had to get up actively and take care of ourselves. Absolutely not recommended. The guest here is simply the cow that is being milked. No more and no less!

Very nice and good restaurant with delicious food and dessert. Good service. Unfortunately it took a long time to pay. Therefore only 4 stars. We'd love to come back anyway. Sincerely, Harald and Eveline

We were served so well, the plates for our wedding were so tasty and beautifully presented. We and all our guests were delighted. We liked the food (Pizza Parma and Spagetti alio Oglio), the service was friendly and it went quickly. Well the price is high - the Baltic Sea. The cleanliness is optimal for normal conditions, well in Corona times, something more can be done but all in all it fits.

We stopped here at coffee time and were served quite quickly. I had a vanilla waffle and my husband a tiramisu. We liked both very much. The coffee was also very good. The staff was friendly and what you wanted was quickly at the table.

We were there today. For my daughter a pizza for children and for me this pictured pizza with salmon! My husband had pasta. All dishes were delicious. Really! I haven't had this good pizza in a long time !! The service was very friendly and it was really quick. I would eat there again !!

Calzone & pizza were good and sufficient. Unfortunately, I found the price for a large cola really high. 5 € for 0.4l is already an announcement. According to the motto once & never again. So it is now. Well Corona time is mask protection obligation. Personnel should better stick to it & should put the mask on properly.

Everything is very, very fresh and of the best quality. Very friendly service. We will definitely be back. Very, very tasty

Typical "Italian" with an extensive menu. I didn't like the pizza because of the consistency of the base. But that's just a matter of taste. Some specialties are offered for pasta dishes. My companion was told on their choice that the dish was only available with a different type of pasta but otherwise identical, which was not true. Friendliness of the staff, waiting time and value for money were okay. Work can still be done on the ambience of the outdoor area. The fact that the operating personnel consistently and consistently did not adhere to the Corona regulations and wore the mask under their nose leads to a devaluation.

With downpours and cold feet, we went looking for coffee and cake. We found it here. Delicious cakes, sundaes, waffles and crepes are available here, plus a coffee and the world is all right again. Not exactly cheap.

A very nice establishment with extremely nice staff who unfortunately do not speak the best German. The dishes offered there were expensive but well worth the money. The pizzas were of good quality. I didn't have to wait long for the food to come. There was a lot on the menu. A typical Italian restaurant of the finest quality.

I think that is the best place in the Selin. Averting was perfect, and the staff kindly. If you go there, 1 time is necesary to drink or to eat in this ristorant.
